LinkedIn's 2020 Global Talent Trends report shows that companies are rethinking their relationship with candidates and employees, treating them with greater empathy. This is so that companies can attract talent and retain their employees.

The report identified three talent trends that focus on empathy:
1. Focus on employee experience (relationships, the physical workplace, the work itself, and processes and technology). Companies are creating a workplace experience that improves retention and employer brand.
2. Adopting talent analytics to get insights into critical information from company data and help talent leaders be more strategic in workforce planning, measuring recruiting spend and predicting attrition.
3. Recruiting from within. Companies are increasingly looking inward to find the people they need. Promotions and internal transfers have increased steadily by 10 percent over the last five years, according to LinkedIn data.
